The Emotron FDU Variable Frequency Drive delivers top-tier performance and control for variable torque applications like pumps, fans, compressors, and blowers. With advanced features like patented Shaft Power Monitoring and multi-pump control, it ensures unmatched reliability and efficiency.

The new drive sizes are built using 365A Power Electronic Building Blocks (PEBBs), which provide significantly improved power density. Their unique design offers enhanced flexibility and redundancy, resulting in a 30% reduction in cabinet width, optimizing space without sacrificing performance.

Designed to control both flow and pressure, the Emotron FDU reduces energy use and maintenance costs, supporting motors up to 4,000 HP (3,000 kW). It’s available in NEMA 12 (IP54) and NEMA 1 (IP20/21) enclosures, making it suitable for various environments.

The Emotron FDU ensures smooth starts and stops, protecting your equipment from wear and tear. Reduced start currents mean smaller fuses, thinner cables, and lower energy costs. Controlled stops prevent issues like water hammer, reducing the risk of costly damage. With a built-in load monitor and unique Load Curve Protection function, the FDU detects inefficiencies or potential damage early. It offers safety stops and alerts for overloading and underloading, allowing you to take preventive action before problems escalate.

Energy Savings and Optimized Operation

The Emotron FDU regulates flow and pressure by continuously adjusting motor speed, eliminating wasted energy and reducing equipment wear. A sleep function further conserves energy by pausing the motor when it's not needed. The automatic pump rinsing feature enhances efficiency, while the FDU's ability to control multiple pumps or compressors ensures constant flow or pressure, even under varying demand. It can manage up to seven drives, providing reliable, cost-effective operation.

User-Friendly and Reliable Control

The FDU lets you set operation parameters in units you’re familiar with, such as m³/min, bar, Pascal, Celsius, and more, making monitoring more intuitive. The removable control panel features a copy function for easy transfer of settings between FDU units. You can switch between local and remote control with the push of a button. The built-in programmable logic, comparators, and timers often eliminate the need for external PLCs or relays, simplifying system integration.

Available in IP20/21 and IP54 Versions

The Emotron FDU comes in IP20/21 and IP54 models. The durable steel construction of the IP54 version allows you to install the drive close to the application, saving on cabinet costs and reducing the need for long motor cables. Units with 300-1,500 A (IP20 modules) are also available in compact CG-designed IP54 cabinets. The IP20/21 series (25-365 A) is optimized for control cabinet installation (IP20) or wall-mounting in electrical rooms (IP21). The FDU’s robust, compact design offers easy access to power terminals and an extended temperature range of up to 131°F (55°C).

Simplified Maintenance

In the event of a process or drive issue, the Emotron FDU provides a full status report for each fault in its event log, helping you quickly identify the cause and take corrective action. Maintenance is simplified thanks to the minimal number of easy-to-access mechanical parts and fold-out power modules in higher-powered units.
